Super Secret Sneak Preview - Alphonse Elric by MaceRider Super Secret Sneak Preview - Alphonse Elric by MaceRider
Progress is slow, but it's comin' along.

PVC sheeting, rubber cement, heat gun - BITCHES.

Also, I cannot stress this enough, PEPAKURA HELMETS ARE AN ENORMOUS PAIN IN THE ASS TO MAKE. Sweet Jesus on a pogo stick, I've spent more time making Alphonse's helmet than I have making all my plush toys combined. SO MUCH CUTTING. SO MANY TINY TINY FINE PARTS. 20 sheets of A4 cardstock to make ONE head-sized helmet. GAWD.

OMGGGGGGGGGGG, this is soooo freaking cool! Holy cows with axes! \></

Wow, that is awesome! I've never worked with a heat gun, do ya need any protective wear to use it?

It looks super detailed, ace job!

A heat gun is just a big industrial-strength hair dryer, really. You probably want gloves, although I never wear gloves when using it. Don't point the gun at your hands, feet, face, etc when it's turned on. It'll definitely burn you. Don't point it at anything highly flammable like gasoline, etc. Don't use it in the tub... LOL

It's a pretty useful tool! I used it to make glue dry quickly when making the papercraft helmet for this costume.

Yes, we're using an existing Papercraft figure as a base for the armor's shape.

After assembly, it will be suitably modified in order to be worn.
