I had an idea of sharing costumes and wigs as I am just starting but know this business is expensive and when i am charged $300 for a human hair lace front wig just so I can portray Avery Jennings and once I've been her I'll want to sell or lend my wig so it can be used enough times to make it's value pay for itself.

Do you sell costumes as I'd really like to buy 1 as yours is 1 of the best I've seen.

Do you plan on making a business making that outfit as i bet there are tons of people who want to be Anna but can't do sewing.

oooohhhh another spot-on anna, you're amazing!!
i have question, where is the inner cape attached to by the way? on teh capet? or the actual costume?
would appreciate the help, thanks!!

The cape is made up of two pieces, the actual "cape" and the shoulder cover and collar, but they are sewn together, so they are one piece.

Thanks for the comment :)

I didn't actually sew the cape (my girlfriend did all the work, that's her in the photo as well), but from what I remember, it's something like a raincoat - the cape is like a long vest, with armholes on the sides, and the shoulder piece itself is attached at the collar.

Did you make the hair and the dress otherwise how do you make such beautiful things, a tutorial would be great

The hair is a wig, everything else is handmade. I don't think there will be a tutorial, but everything is fairly simple, just time-consuming.

Could you give me some advice on wear the wig was from and how to make the outfit, I am really new to this but have the time to devote to it.

Wigs you can find on eBay. Generally quality is a gamble when you're ordering from China but as long as the price starts at about 15-20 dollars you should be fine. 20 bucks for medium wig, 30-40 for a long one is a decent price.

I will not go in depth on how to make the outfit. You will need to know how to draft and sew clothes to do a decent job of it, it's not something you can explain easily.

Would it be easier to go and busy from Etsy if you have the money as explaining all the instructions in a message can be hard, $40 for a wig seems cheap as I tend to see them for $100 and they've been made from scratch.

I don't know anyone who scratch-makes wigs - most of the cosplay wigs you'll ever see are Chinese. They may be styled after purchase and then sold, but truly handmade wigs would cost way too much for the average cosplayer to afford.

The costumes I've seen on Etsy are extremely expensive. If you have the time and skills, you'll be able to save a large sum of money by hand-making. Another possibility is to find a seamstress locally that will at least make the foundation of the costume, in the case of Anna, it would be the dress and cloak, and you can then do the embroidery by hand. It will be much cheaper that way than to order something ready-made or made-to-order on Etsy.

I want to have something that lasts and I don't know the right people, I was considering being Avery Jennings, it's just the 3 tone hair that might be hard but she up and coming and well worth roleplaying as.
I have the money and would be happy to invest in something as I really don't have that good contacts.

It's a movie that recently came out, it makes sense that people want to cosplay new things while they're still fresh.

Thanks!

She's my female companion :lmao:

The costume is handmade. We don't buy anything for our costumes, except for wigs, because they aren't easy to make.
